Not all of the exposures were duds at first though. This is one I thought turned out ok. As I look through the images what soon became apparent is the attention required to composition. I see possibilities of how I could have taken these differently, or composed the shot from another angle, or, what I would have left out of the image. I think the adage of "less is more" really is true.

09/29/11 Vari ND Filters II1632
E-PL1 Focal Length: 18 mm Aperture: f/11.0 Exposure Time: 30/1 sec ISO: 100 09/28/11 Vari ND FiltersI've been wanting to try these filters for some time now, so when I was wandering the wilderness in the Black Forest region I came across this waterfall. What better time to try it out. The wife rolled her eyes and took out her portable stool and book. I needed no more encouragement and off I went.
2 to 3 hours later I was still at it and having a great time. This is something I can really get into. I didn't buy an expensive Vari ND to start with, just in case it wasn't my thing, but things turned out just fine. I blew a couple of shots where the highlights are blown out but by the end of the day I was getting the hang of it.
Sooooo, the next few images are going to be of cotton wool water. Some like it and some don't. I personally like it, but next time I'll try it with shorter exposure setting, say between 1 and 3 seconds. Most of the blowout images were around the 15 seconds mark. Clearly too long. 1790
E-PL1 Focal Length: 56 mm Aperture: f/11.0 Exposure Time: 20/1 sec ISO: 100 09/27/11 Highlighted TreeOn a little break during one of our hiking expeditions, this tree was suddenly highlighted as the sun came around. I though it looked nice against the dark background. The tree was actually growing in the middle of a lake on a floating peat island. The lake is man-made and when filled during its creation, peat floated to the top of the water and has steadily grown over the last decades. 1106
E-P3 Focal Length: 60 mm Aperture: f/11.0 Exposure Time: 1/50 sec ISO: 200 09/25/11 Back AgainBeen away for three weeks and had a great time. Shame that all is back to normal.
Thought I would post an image from my trip. Hope you like it. Very simple and minimalistic. Just up my street.
More images from my trip to follow. I have a lot of work to do on these images and it's going to take some time but I'll post if I think an image is worth it.
One strange thing I've noticed in the last couple of years. I used to count the images as individuals, nowadays I just count the images in Gigabytes. Then I have a fair idea of how much work I'll have processing them all.
I don't know how you do it but I'm a pure raw shooter and I at least look at every image I bring home. 1285

Any wishes regarding cameras or lenses, I'll try and get them answered.
See you in a couple of weeks. 1266

08/29/11 Great Light IIII should have calledthis "Fly Away" or something like that because I didn't realise there was a plane in the image which just took off from the airport which is situated just around the corner from me. I took a lot of images on this occation the light was just great. Nothing special either, just point the camera and let it do it's own thing. 1089
E-P2 Focal Length: 150 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/320 sec ISO: 200 • Olympus • E-P2 • m4/3 • mZD 14-150
08/27/11 Great Light IIHere is another one just processed. Pretty abstact but it's the very low sun reflecting off these strange looking clouds. Just amazing. I've still got a couple to go so I might post some more in the next few days. 1321

08/26/11 Great LightSome great light the other evening. I think it's the best I've even seen. Grabbed my E-P2 with the Oly mZD 14-150 on it and just sat outside taking pictures of what I saw. I thought I'd post some here. Hope you enjoy them too. 1471

08/25/11 Panasonic Lumix L1 VThis is the last for the present from this camera. After looking at a few past images I will definately be taking it on my next outing.
Hope you have enjoyed the ride. C&C always welcome as usual. 1378
DMC-L1 Focal Length: 69 mm Aperture: f/5.2 Exposure Time: 10/3200 sec ISO: 100 08/24/11 Panasonic Lumix L1 IVI just like the image quality I get from the L1. Of course the lenses has something to do with this as well as the sensor used. The only lenses I use with this camera is the PL 14-50 f2.8-3.5 and the Pl 14-150 f3.5-5.6.
They are sharp at every aperture throughout the focal range. I don't need to think about what aperture to use at a certain focal length. It just makes using this combination fun. I don't think I'll ever sell them, even though it only produces a 7.5MP file. 1478
