This photograph was taken in Trodheim. This cathedral is quite large as you can see from the person walking into the image. I'm qquite surprised at the quality of the 18-55 kit lens. From what I've read on the Internet the quality varies considerably. I'm quite happy with mine.

NEX-5N Focal Length: 29 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/60 sec ISO: 1250 03/27/12 Sony Nex CamerasThis one was taken with the Nokton 35 f1.2 II in one of the largest sea water aquariums in the world. Obviously this specimen wasn't alive but it just shows what's possible with the Nokton. 1820
NEX-7 Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/60 sec ISO: 640 • Sony • Nex-7 • Nokton • Voigtlaender • 35 f1.2 II • Nokton
03/26/12 Sony Nex CamerasAgain with the new Nokton 35 f1.2 II lens, it produces lovely photographs. I just love the rendition it gives. This fast lens (with a couple of othersI took along) helped a lot because of the low light levels. Here, it was quite light which wasn't typical at all during the trip. 1452
NEX-7 Focal Length: unknown Aperture: f/1.0 Exposure Time: 1/200 sec ISO: 100 • Sony • Nex-7 • Nokton • Voigtlaender • 35 f1.2 II • Nokton
03/25/12 Sony Nex CamerasDuring the month of January I went on a little cruise holiday to the north of Norway. It turned out to one of the most amazing trips I have ever done. Starting out in Bergen we travelled north, over the tip of Norway and down to Kirkenes, situated not far from the Russian border. As you can imagine, it's quite cold in January when you're in the Arctic Circle. That would be an understatment really. When on the ship travelling at an average speed of 15 knots the wind is really really cold, and trying to photograph scenes when you can't feel your fingers is no fun at all. What really upset me a bit was the amount of darkness one has, or put it another way, the lack of daylight you have during the day. The longest period we had was around 4 hours of daylight in one day.
However, after I got over my initial shock, we had some tremendous light when travelling back down towards Bergen. I would like to share some photographs of that trip with you in the following posts.
This one taken with the Sony Nex-7 and the CV Nokton 35 f1.2 II. An excellent combination which doesn't produce purple colour shifts. Wider lenses are a mess on the Nex-7 so my Nex-5N has been designated my wide angle camera from now on. 1273

03/10/12 Samsung EX1I think this turned out really well for a P&S. It was really a snapshot taken on the spur of the moment. Again, it's one camera that really has me stumped sometimes. Personally I think there's a minor bug in the firmware somewhere because some images are so blown out or the blacks are so blocked and for no reason at all. Doesn't happen every time but when it does this you can really delete the image. No recovery possible. 1684
EX1 Focal Length: 0 mm Aperture: f/2.4 Exposure Time: 1/90 sec ISO: 100 03/05/12 Samsung EX1Another image from this little camera. I really have a love hate relationship with it. Sometimes it gets the image totally wrong in processing and at other times, like this one, it's simply amazing. I normally use aperture mode with all my cameras 99% of the time. I was using the tilt and swivel screen here with the camera stabalized on a table in front of me. These screens do come in useful at times like these but I must admit I don't use it as often as I should. 1667
EX1 Focal Length: 0 mm Aperture: f/5.0 Exposure Time: 1/350 sec ISO: 80 03/02/12 Samsung NX10Another image using the NX10 with the NX 55-200 lens. I must admit I haven't used this camera much, not because it's a bad camera, but because there are better cameras out there. I mean better in the sense it's much more fun using them than the NX10. I believe Samsung are now in the process of developing a new camera with a better sensor. 1616
NX10 Focal Length: 55 mm Aperture: f/5.6 Exposure Time: 1/320 sec ISO: 200 03/01/12 Samsung NX10I don't think I've loaded many images from this camera in the past, maybe one or two but it can't be much more than that. It is not a bad camera but it isn't a camera that makes you go wow either. Focusing isn't really that fast, but not slow either. Seems accurate though and the images are not bad at all. This image was takem with the NX 55-200 lens. Not really expensive, a little large for my liking, but it does produce some ok images. 2545
NX10 Focal Length: 55 mm Aperture: f/8.0 Exposure Time: 1/100 sec ISO: 200 02/21/12 Samsung NX10 and the 30 f2 PancakeThe last image from this camera and lens for now. I thought it would be a change from the m4/3 scene and see how other cameras do. I like the bokeh in this one and the 30 f2 hit the mark with the focusing. The camera helped some too. Like I said, not the fastest focusing camera, but it nails the focusing nearly 100% of the time. 1788
NX10 Focal Length: 30 mm Aperture: f/2.8 Exposure Time: 1/100 sec ISO: 200 02/20/12 Samsung NX10 and the 30 f2 PancakeAnother image from this combination. Sharp and contrasty. This is how I like my images. 1467
